IPL Post Care Instructions

Post Treatment Care

  • Cooling the skin: You may feel some heat or discomfort after treatment. To soothe this, you can use a cool compress, chilled gel, or hydro-gel pad.
  • Avoid placing ice directly on the skin, as this can make swelling worse or cause unwanted side effects.

What to expect on your skin:

  • Brown spots (lentigines) may get darker over the next 1–3 days.
  • Small scabs or crusts may form within a few days—this is normal. They usually fall off naturally within 1–3 weeks.
  • Do not pick at them; let them come off on their own for the best results.
  • Some redness or swelling can happen and usually settles within 1–3 days.
  • If blisters or scabs appear: Treat the area gently as you would a small burn.
  • Sun protection is essential - Please re-apply throughout the day.
  • Avoid tanning beds or direct sun exposure between treatments.

Treatment spacing:

  • Sessions are usually scheduled about every 4 weeks (or longer), depending on how your skin responds and clears.
